Morning & Evening Home Care Routine

Your morning and nighttime skincare routines are equally important and necessary for maintaining your skin’s radiance between facial treatments.

In the morning, you are grooming and preparing your skin to look and feel revived, refreshed and ready for the day. During the day your face builds up a layer of oil, dead skin cells and bacteria making nighttime cleansing a definite must.  Clean skin at night supports the skin as it works through its natural rejuvenation process to repair itself. Nightly cleansing also contributes to an increased penetration and absorption of your skincare products aiding in your skin’s revitalization.

Always remember be gentle with your skin - no pulling, rubbing or scrubbing!!!

Morning Skincare Routine:

Step 1

Cleanse & Rinse: Place a small amount of the appropriate cleanser for your skin type on your fingertips then apply to your face in an upward, circular motion. This will help to remove impurities and purify the skin, leaving it feeling clean and energized. Stay away from cleansers that contain alcohol and fragrance, they are just too drying and increase the potential for allergic reactions and irritation. Rinse skin thoroughly with tepid water until cleanser is completely removed. Pat face dry with a clean towel.

Note: Hot water tends to over dry and irritates the skin as it strips away the healthy oils.

Step 2

Serum: Apply a small amount of your chosen serum to your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead, lightly patting it in all over your skin with your finger. Serums are the real backbone of your skincare products; call them the multi-vitamin for your face. They are designed to penetrate deeper into the skin rejuvenating it from beneath the surface. Serums contain a high concentration of active ingredients such as antioxidants, peptides and skin brighteners. Just a few drops are all you need.

Step 3

Eye Cream/Serum: Follow up by applying a small amount of eye cream to your fingertip. Start from the outer corner of the eye, tapping lightly on the bone moving in a counter clockwise direction. Continue the tapping application to the top of the eyelid and maintaining the counter clockwise direction around the eye until the cream/serum is blended.

Do not rub or pull the skin around the eye area.

Step 4

Moisturizer: Dot the moisturizer on your chin, cheeks, nose, forehead and neck (avoiding the eye area). Use fingertips to blend in an upward circular motion. Your moisturizer hydrates and reinforces your natural skin barrier. Regular use helps the skin to remain soft and supple lessening the occurrence of dry, scaly and itchy skin.

Step 5

Sunscreen: Finish off with the application of a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Make sure the label states both UVA and UVB protection with an SPF of at least 15. Don’t put your good health on the line. Sunscreen is just as important, if not more important than any other product we use in our daily skincare regimen.

Remember it takes no more than 15 minutes for the sun to do damage to your skin.

EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE:

Step 1

Cleanse & Rinse: Failing to cleanse at night is a missed opportunity for decreasing your risk for breakouts and blemishes. Follow the same cleansing and rinse procedure described for your morning routine.

Step 2

Serum: Apply a small amount of your chosen serum to your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead, lightly patting it in all over your skin with your finger. This aids in the skin’s natural nightly rejuvenation process.

IMPORTANT SKINCARE MUST FOR ALL ROUTINES…..

Mask

Using a mask is a very important step in a good skincare routine. You should apply a mask at least twice a week or every 3 to 4 days.  After cleansing, apply your mask leaving it on for 10 to 15 minutes; however the duration can be shorter or longer. The mask conceals the skin and depending on the type of mask it may draw impurities from the skin, eliminate dead cells or tighten and tone, all the while aiding in the skin’s natural ability to repair itself.

Exfoliation

Begin by applying tepid water to the face. Apply a quarter size amount of the exfoliant to the fingertips and begin moving in an upward circular motion.

Do Not Scrub! Allow your fingers to glide across your face. The granules will take care of the exfoliation.

Exfoliation should be performed with a gentle natural exfoliant. This can be performed immediately before applying a mask or they can be performed at totally different times.

Exfoliation enhances blood flow to the face, removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and helps to smooth and refine the skin’s texture.

Remember to drink WATER!

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!

Drinking water is by far one of the best things you can do to keep your skin in shape. It’s that simple. It helps your cells take in nutrients and flush out toxins.  Beautiful skin needs hydration and nourishment, internally and externally. So drink plenty of water, eat a healthy diet, and supplement as necessary.
